as posted by the channel4.5 Million Eligible Black Voters. Show Up or Racist Power Keeps Texas
Texas has 4.5 million eligible Black voters, but turnout numbers are keeping Republican control in place.
Roland Martin spoke with Jesuorobo Enobakhare Jr about maximizing Black voter turnout in Texas. Texas has around 4.5 million eligible Black voters, yet turnout remains well below the 70 percent threshold discussed in the segment. Black, Latino, Asian American, and Native communities comprise sixty percent of the state, but sixty percent of actual voters are white—one reason cited for Republicans controlling Texas for the last thirty years. The focus was on precinct-level voter data, door knocking, and disciplined GOTV strategy to convert potential into power.
