A Black special education teacher is dead after an ICE traffic stop escalated into a pursuit and a fatal crash.
Dr. Linda Davis, a beloved Black special education teacher in Savannah, Georgia, was killed after authorities said a man fleeing an ICE traffic stop ran a red light and collided with her vehicle. On the panel, speakers stressed that immigration status is a civil matter, not a criminal offense, and argued that a high-speed pursuit over a civil issue was unjustified. They said ICE created a danger to the community and questioned ICE’s authority to pursue vehicles in a way that puts the public at risk. The segment focused on accountability for enforcement tactics that turn civil immigration enforcement into deadly outcomes.
