Roland Martin tore into Clarence Thomas following his dissent in a Supreme Court case involving a Florida death-row inmate whose conviction relied in part on false testimony from a prosecution witness. While seven justices ordered a lower court to reconsider the case under the proper legal standard, Thomas argued the issue was inconsequential and questioned why the Court was spending time on it. Roland used the dissent to revisit Thomas's broader record on affirmative action, voting rights, and race-related cases, arguing that the justice's own words continue to reinforce accusations that he is hostile to Black interests and civil rights.
