Roland Martin speaks with D.C. Councilmember Robert White Jr. about letters sent to Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. urging them to withdraw National Guard troops from Washington after the America 250 events ended. White says the mission is over, warns of mission creep as troops move beyond crowd control into neighborhood law-enforcement activity, and argues Democratic governors should not be doing Donald Trump’s bidding. The RMU panel adds that the deployment costs about $1 million per day and says the continued Guard presence is unnecessary for D.C. residents.
