Speaking to Linda Harris, the museum’s Director of Engagement and Programming, Jones emphasized that there is only one birthplace of Harriet Tubman. She said the museum needs enough support to add security, protect the building and grow—not merely return to where it was before the break-in.
Jones’ appeal came as Roland Martin launched a challenge for the RMU family to raise $10,000 for the museum in 24 hours.
