Roland Martin spoke with Gary Councilman-at-Large Miles Talbott, who described a city still in crisis after the August 11 storm. Talbott said Gary residents need immediate help, especially seniors and families dealing with displacement, damaged homes, and prolonged outages. He also said FEMA information was still coming in only in “bits and pieces,” even after the disaster declaration, while local officials and volunteers worked around the clock to respond.
