This sermon excerpt is based from my understanding of being Once Saved, Always Saved. I wrote a book on the subject back in 1983. Unfortunately its now out of print. But is available now as a PDF download here

If you want to learn more about this subject and my understanding of it, please read the preview blog here

I first wrote Once Saved, Always Saved in 1983, six years after coming to Westminster Chapel. This book was initially accepted by the evangelical community in Great Britain – being featured in Evangelical Times. But later on it came under attack by some hyper-reformed people who charged me with antinomianism (a word that means "lawlessness" and is associated with the idea that since you are saved it doesn't matter how you live). Certain people tried to eject me from my church! What saved me from this was two things. First, it was well known that Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, the man who put me in Westminster Chapel, always said that if our Gospel is not accused of being antinomian it is because we hadn't really preached it! Secondly, testimonies of countless people claimed that it was this very book which motivated them to live godly lives like no book they had ever read.

I did not write Once Saved, Always Saved to convince people of this teaching but to encourage those who wanted to believe it but were afraid it is not true. I have received more unsolicited letters from readers of this book than any other book I have written except Total Forgiveness. So many people have written to say they were either given a clear assurance of their salvation but also that it led them to live holy lives that would bring honor and glory to God.

You decide. I pray it will be a blessing to you.
