YouTube Description
as posted by the channelRussell described a 1960s experiment that built a literal mouse paradise, complete with unlimited food, total safety and zero predators. The population exploded at first, then something strange happened: the mice stopped mating entirely, and within four years the entire colony was extinct. The cause wasn't scarcity, it was overload, with thousands of mice crammed into constant social contact until they lost the ability to bond, mate or raise young, with many males retreating into grooming themselves instead of competing. Russell couldn't resist adding his own story about a pet mouse named Elvis who lived in his hair at drama school, though he was quick to point out even Elvis eventually overstayed his welcome.
