He said it doesn't matter whether it's that group, homosexuals in a country where it's criminalized, or Muslims somewhere else entirely, the labels and flags aren't the point. Russell argued that if you actually hold a principle against persecution, it has to apply everywhere and to everyone, not just the cases that happen to serve a particular argument. A real principle doesn't need a name attached to it to matter.
