0:45Now PlayingRussell reacts to the UK government announcing what's being called the largest ever national pandemic exercise, designed to test the country's readiness for a future outbreak, and immediately raises an eyebrow at the phrasing, since testing readiness usually comes paired with new powers being introduced alongside it. He's careful not to attack the individual politician making the announcement, acknowledging he's likely a decent person caught inside a system, but argues that system consistently ends up representing state interests over public ones. A sharp, skeptical look at what "preparedness" might actually be setting up next.
