Why is the Ukrainian Flag blue and yellow? Some say it's blue sky over a yellow field of wheat.

Ukraine is the breadbasket of Europe. Others say it's blue sky over sunflowers. And the sunflower is Ukraine's national flower.

But the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia's crest was blue and white. And we can go back even further to pre-Christian Slavic mythology where blue and yellow represented water and fire.
