This long-range done attack is basically Ukraine's Doolittle moment. Russia now knows that its internal airbases are no longer safe and they may need to protect these areas with surface-to-air missile systems. This increases the stress on air defenders and equipment. It also increases the risk of mis-identifying and shooting down the wrong target.

In all, this is a dilemma, not a problem for Russia.
