This video first showed up on TikTok and ostensibly showed an Israeli sniper shooting a laser at a Palestinian journalist.
I doubt that this is real because:
1. “Snipers” do not normally choose to reveal their location.
2. The PEQ-15 laser sight does not have a visible green light.
3. If Israelis were using a commercial laser pointer to intimidate a journalist, they would likely be very far away and the laser beam divergence would likely be very large (30cm at 200m if it showed up at all).
Based on the fact that the PEQ-15 has a red light with a Beam divergence of .5 mrad, this is most likely another person with a commercial green laser pointer who walked far enough away 53-67 meters to make the laser dot bigger on the reporter’s chest.
