What the Heck is Going on Between Cambodia and Thailand?
This video breaks down the still-developing conflict between Cambodia and Thailand. It’s a weird one. Neither side wants war—but they can’t seem to stop fighting either.
At the center of it all? An ancient temple on a disputed border, drone strikes, artillery fire, and conflicting narratives that sound like they were written by different screenwriters.
Thailand says Cambodia launched drones and rockets. Cambodia says Thai soldiers surrounded a temple with barbed wire and fired first. And somewhere in the mix, Thai F-16s dropped bombs.
Both nations are constitutional monarchies—with very different definitions of “constitutional.”
Thailand has the bigger military and a shaky coalition government. Cambodia has a weaker military but “Iron Clad” ties to China.
This isn’t just a fight over a temple. It’s about political pressure, national pride, and external influence from major powers like the U.S. and China.
