How did a database vulnerability end up causing chaos in Rainbow Six Siege?

In this video, I break down MongoBleed (CVE202514847 ) a newly disclosed MongoDB vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to leak process memory directly from exposed databases.

This isn’t about stealing database records.

This is about leaking credentials, session tokens, API keys, and internal secrets straight out of memory, the stuff that lets attackers log in like they belong there.

If this sounds familiar, it should. MongoBleed is part of the same family of bugs as Heartbleed a classic “memory bleed” vulnerability that turns a simple request into a full compromise.

I explain:

* What MongoBleed is (in plain English)

* How NoSQL databases like MongoDB actually work

* Why memory leaks are more dangerous than they sound

* How attackers exploited this in the real world

* And how this kind of bug can escalate from a game server… to ransomware

If you run MongoDB, work in IT, security, cloud infrastructure — or you’re just curious how cyber attacks actually work — this is one you need to understand.

Public patches are for versions:

8.2.3,

8.0.17,

7.0.28,

6.0.27,

5.0.32,

4.4.30
