Prime Minister Hon. Allen Chastanet addressed the nation on April 12. The prime minister announced that Saint Lucia will maintain the partial shutdown from April 14 to April 26. The period of curfew also remains from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
In additional to grocery stores, and other essential services, hardware stores and home suppliers will also be open during the coming week in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season.
Government hopes to announce a phased re-opening of commercial activities, as long as Saint Lucia is able to contain the community transmission of COVID-19.
The Government of Saint Lucia continues to encourage adherence of physical distancing protocols at all levels.
