2:23Now PlayingToday, Friday 13 th August, 2021, the adjusted COVID-19 protocols have come into effect for the period 13th -31st August. Information from the health authorities indicates that we have been having a significant spike in the level of persons being tested positive for COVID-19 not only in Saint Lucia but worldwide.
As such, the public is encouraged to strictly adhere to the adjusted protocols which include the following in brief:
1) Continue to wear your mask in public, sanitise and practice social distancing
2) Adhere to the curfew which begins at 9 P.M. and ends at 4:00 A.M. daily
3) Businesses are to close at 8:00 P.M. daily and facilitate the timely departure of staff
4) Social gatherings are restricted to immediate household/family and are limited to ten (10) people.
5) Regular church and religious ceremonies are permitted in accordance with social distancing protocols
6) Schools are tentatively scheduled to open on 6th September, 2021
7) Workplaces are to adopt physical distancing protocols and can implement a blended approach which includes work from home and office.
We want to thank the people of Saint Lucia for their patience and fortitude over the past months as we fight the COVID pandemic. It was not and is not easy but as a nation we believe that the majority understand that we must all share in the sacrifice of dealing with the pandemic. Your Government cares and will always put you first in all the decisions that are made.
