as posted by the channelThe National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) encourages the public to utilize psycho-social support programmes made available by the Ministry of Health.
The public, and particularly residents of communities affected by the November 6 trough and flash flooding event, are informed that the Ministry of Health has assigned a team to undertake psychological first aid services. These services can be accessed through local Wellness Centres by walk-in visits and by telephone between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays. Members of the team are also available upon request to provide support within the homes.
Residents and the public is encouraged to visit their nearest Wellness Centre:
1. For care and to check on their Tetanus vaccination as may be necessary if injuries were experienced
2. To refill prescriptions and obtain medications that were lost or exposed to flood waters
