1:52Now PlayingThe Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is pleased to announce the expansion of the Riviere Mitan Multipurpose Court to a full-sized facility. This development will include resurfacing, proper court markings, and the installation of fencing to enhance safety and usability.
As the only sporting facility in Riviere Mitan, the upgraded court is expected to play a crucial role in fostering athletic talent among youth while serving as a hub for community engagement. Residents, as well as individuals from neighboring communities, will have access to a high-quality space for training and competition across various sporting disciplines.
The Ministry will collaborate closely with the Riviere Mitan Development Committee to ensure the facility’s sustainable use. Efforts will be made to establish grassroots sports programs that maximize the court’s impact, creating opportunities for skill development and community cohesion.
In addition to the Riviere Mitan expansion, the Ministry has commenced acquiring land in La Bourne to construct another multipurpose court. This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to providing safe and accessible sports infrastructure to support youth development and community engagement across Saint Lucia.
