Streyle said on his Twitter account Friday that a person who had responded to one of his tweets is a, "libtard."
Streyle said the back-and-forth with the person went back to last year when Pres. Trump visited North Dakota.
He apologized for making the remark to the person and has since privatized his account, though he did say a petition online for him to leave office was "ridiculous" but would not comment further.
