"Scottsdale became a landing spot this weekend for those who believe in UFOs, alien abductions and large-scale government cover-ups.

A panel Saturday at the International UFO Congress in Scottsdale gave accounts of what some say were extraordinary contacts with extraterrestrial life.

Although UFO "sightings" often turn out to be explicable phenomena, such as the streak of light caused by a recent SpaceX rocket launch in California, the U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed previous funding of UFO research.

While no human contact with aliens has ever been verified by the government, attendees at the Saturday conference say it's clear that we are not alone in the universe."
