Dave: Hey Dave from Jamaica guys. How are you guys doing?

Sam: Dave from jamaica. your number always fakes me out. I always think I'm talking to somebody from what is it not from la from what's the place gosh Pasadena or no somewhere around there. What's up?

Dave: It's part of its part yeah it's part of how I can call and not lose all my pay. so I'll get into yeah. So glad to hear Rachel is safe. I met her way back when Michael Brooks was alive but the last show he was at. so it's good to hear she's safe and she made it to warsaw. and provided us with info. I think what I was going to go into and you guys kind of highlighted it is that I guess what I also find disturbing is the naked racism you're seeing when it comes to people's response to these immigration issues right? I mean like I oh I'm used to it. but what disturbs me is kind of the bald-facedness of it. no like they don't even care to pretty it up or hide it up. Why do you guys think about it?

Sam: And what racism are you talking about in terms of how European countries are…

Dave: how they treat all their refugees.

Sam: yeah the difference.. yeah I mean here's my perspective on it. I mean I think like it's pretty clear I think there's look the most generous take I have is that you know that there's you have maybe Ukrainian you know I'm trying to think of what the most generous take I have of this that is like I mean it's just. I think the idea of maybe that there has been a long time specter of Russia in the context of a lot of these eastern European countries. they used to be part of the empire et cetera et cetera. But the most clear-eyed perspective is that there is a huge amount of racism involved in the willingness and the supposed capacity of countries to take in Ukrainian refugees as opposed to let's say, Syrian refugees. or refugees from northern Africa et cetera et cetera. and the only thing I would say is what's what does it mean sorry go ahead but just my perspective on this is broadly that like these are opportunities to yes point out these racial disparities. but also to try and leverage these things to tear down the obstacles to allowing other refugees in.
