YouTube Description
as posted by the channelGas prices are high in America and people are freaking out. In a recent speech, President Biden said that the best way to deal with increasing fuel costs is to end our dependence on fossil fuels. But he followed that statement up with why it's also important that we drill more oil here at home.

Sam: It's a little bit fascinating. we're watching you know Joe Biden's numbers went up a little bit over the past couple of weeks. part I think because half of the state of the union was about Ukraine and Russia. and this is where I think the Biden administration has done a pretty good job with this frankly. they were proven right in terms of like they're anticipating this invasion. Again, let me just say I think that anybody who thinks that the invasion is a function of the Biden administration anticipating it is completely out of their minds. and there are people out there who I think are still clutching to that explanation. but no they clearly were aware and clearly had intelligence that suggested that Putin was determined to do this. and they have also been I think pretty steadfast in being able to keep the united states out of this. I mean keep this from escalating and doing to the extent that they can without that escalation. I mean in my mind I think it's I think it's it it's they're doing a pretty good job in that respect. Let's play these two clips though. because I just want to talk about the sort of the pivot that the republicans have made. But let's play these two clips. Let's play clip number one and two. This is Joe Biden talking at the DNC winter meeting. and one of the things that's coming up is you know there's this dynamic of not buying Russian oil. and it juices inflation a little bit. but I don't mean that we have inflation. It's a specific type of inflation. and I think it's not a function of monetary policy but of an overheated economy. I think it's just you know it's the pandemic. but here's Biden this is the way that they are dealing with it. is a play clip number one.
Biden: You know there's an impediment to production in the United States and it's called the bankers on Wall Street. This crisis is another indication of why we need to get off dependency on fossil fuels. This is not a solution to today's crisis, it's about the future. That's why we need to build a better America. Let's talk about our record as Americans…
Sam: Okay and then he goes on to say it starts to brag in that record about how much oil we are pumping out of the ground. after saying we need to stop oil here.
Biden: People are already feeling Putin's price hikes at the pump. I think the American people know how important this fight is. I think they know that as painful as the price is today, the costs are going to be higher if we do not act now to deal with this tyrant. So let me be clear on the facts. We are increasing oil production with a record for productivity by the end of the year. we will have produced more oil than any time in the last number of years. Look, I just want to run. The Republicans are playing a game here. they're talking about the democrats having raised prices. they all voted for the same thing. The CEOs of the major oil companies have said they'll increase investment and production if they have the capacity to do it. They have over 4 000 opportunities. They say there's nothing the US government needs to do to incentivize them.
