Fox Business host Neil Cavuto asks GOP Rep. Nancy Mace if leaked audio of Republican leader Kevin McCarthy suggesting then-president Donald Trump resign after Jan 6th will imperil McCarthy's Republican Speakership. Mace says she doesn't think so and pivots to how well McCarthy's treated her during her tenure, adding that she was "too busy" to listen to the audio in question.

This practice by reporters at the most important newspapers in the country, has been going on for decades: Bob Woodward did this during the Bush administration. He did this in the Trump administration, he did in the Trump administration too, but he it started you know he did this back in the Bush years too. The idea is that when we read these most prestigious newspapers in the country some instances in the world, we presume that the reporters are telling us what they know of the most important and relevant stories in at the time of their reporting. I think everybody understands well you might need time to develop a story you might need uh you want to make it iron-clad you want to make sure that you have it sourced properly, people understand that but the idea that key elements of a story are being withheld so that they can monetize this more and it's happened in plenty of places.
