YouTube Description
as posted by the channelLawrence Kudlow downplays that it will be up to state and voters to decide if abortion is banned if Roe v. Wade is overturned. The Majority Report crew discusses how there are already 13 states that will ban abortion if Roe v. Wade is overturned, but Republicans want to pretend it is not a big deal though it is a monumental step in protecting the hegemony of white men. The MR crew discusses how control of women’s bodies goes back to the deeply rooted idea that wives are chattel and how the Right may have enough power in 2024 to pass legislation through Congress.

we said at the top of the show there are two reactions that the republicans are having right now to the leak of the sam alito brief overturning roe v wade one is the only important thing about this is the leak we're going to ignore the substance of the brief because we want to dissipate any energy that might be created by uh this ruling which is wildly unpopular wildly unpopular it is a i mean it's it's it's almost well it's as retrograde in some respects as the supreme court also dismantling the voting rights act um but it is more dramatic and has a more sort of direct impact on people's lives frankly than um putting up obstacles to vote so the other tact that republicans are taking is to pretend like this doesn't do anything getting rid of roe v wade which said that women have a constitutional right to have control over their own bodies and their own lives and that states and other um entities cannot abridge this right except for in very specific narrow circumstances doesn't mean anything and here is lawrence kudlow who came from the reagan administration which began the assault the gov the institutional assault on a woman's right to choose 40 years ago
