He's the President! Of course, there are limits to his power, but he is doing nothing but paying lip service to grieving families. The Democrats claim to have public opinion on their side but they don't do anything with it.

We'll just range from futile to just ridiculous.
Biden's address came from a place where you know he's lost, multiple children. I think cynically frankly the white house sees that as a point of you know that they can hit on because it's obvious they perceive him as the empathetic president. And so they think that he can hit these right notes here. But part of it's enraging because as much as I'm the pain that Biden has gone through in that way I think is horrific there's no legislative solution that is even being discussed. and it won't be. Because the Senate wants to go on recess and frankly they don't want to do anything institutionally in the senate that would allow for any gun measures.
And to be clear there's no there's not a lot of room they can do because of the supreme court. And this just gets back to the failure of the Biden administration to do what they can do. Right there are limits to what they can do legislatively. There are limits that we can do with the bully pulpit. I mean I am fully aware of this. and sympathetic to it. But there are a lot of things that Joe Biden could have done over the past year and a half to put us in a slightly better position to deal with this.
And fine if the supreme court strikes this stuff down then so be it though but that doesn't mean you don't swing.
