There are two cases i want to start with because they both have to do with the separation between church and state which seems to be you know becoming a relic from a bygone era. Let's start I don't know do you what we might do them chronologically let's start with Carson v Makin this is a case out of Maine, tell us about this so this case involves a unique feature of Maine's education system, but there is nothing about the holding that limits it to Maine. So Maine is a pretty big state with lots of rural areas where the state cannot afford to build or run public schools so in those regions it instead gives money to families to spend at private schools.
