My name is Rachel. I'm calling from Missouri. Rachel from Missouri, what's on your mind? I wanted to bring up the Dobbs decision and just kind of relationship really quickly between the announcements that or the leak and the actual overturning of roe my teenage daughter became pregnant. and we were together at the first rally in my town before it was officially announced in May. and because I live in Missouri I called and there was only one clinic in the whole state of Missouri that does abortions. I was afraid to make her appointment there because I knew Roe was going to be overturned in June and it was June. I think it was like June 7th. and so I met I made the appointment just across the river in Illinois. It's about 10 minutes from the Saint Louis clinic but it's in Illinois. because I know they're a blue state and I know their governor. I've heard about that clinic. yeah, it's very fantastic planned parenthood. It took about two weeks to get in. we telemedical that she had to be in the state of Illinois physically to go to the clinic. she could have been anywhere in the whole state but so my husband took her and they had to get a hotel. They made the appointment. they gave her her med. wait so to be clear she had to be in the state for how long before she went to the clinic. she had to be in the state at the time of the appointment. she did not have to be in the clinic physically. but oh I see what you're saying so for the telemedicine part of this. before the procedure took place or was she getting medically indeed induced by a drug. just a drug. okay. still have to be in this I got you so she could have been 300 miles away in Chicago or she could have been you know anywhere in Illinois. but it just so happens that that is the closest to us. we're from southwest Missouri. so there were no issues. She got it done and it all went smoothly. She was about five weeks along. but it was a really scary time. because as soon as you find out you're pregnant even if you're one week pregnant which she was or two weeks maybe. you feel if you're not planning it and you don't want to continue the pregnancy it feels like an eternity. It's a ticking clock. we're so scared. yeah. exactly. because you know we could have made it in Kansas we could have made it in Oklahoma Arkansas Iowa Illinois all the states around us were willing you know had planned parenthoods we could make appointments. But I trust Illinois more. right, so we were able to get it done which was a huge relief.
