The left can't be scared of loudly supporting rights for trans folks. A caller asks if progressives should focus their message on working-class issues, rather than something that could turn off blue-collar voters. Sam and Emma argue that leftists must lean into trans rights even more.

This is more about the overall like you in particular you know obviously love the majority report I'm a member but the messaging is just kind of whether we should focus overall on the left as talking about working-class issues. Because sometimes there are a lot of Working Class People, a large percentage of people even Democrats and Republicans wherever that the whole trans problem or trans issue is a very con thing that they don't deal with and don't want to understand. So I think sometimes even though I am trans I don't think focusing on identity politics, in general, I think it sometimes does lose those people. and there's an article I read from a site I never heard of called libcom.org called the PMC meets the Tucker Carlson left. Where they accuse Catherine Lou Who you had on the show recently of being something called the Tucker Carlson left. where they have a couple of their tweets that they have issues with. and her but to me that most scenes like infighting but I don't know how much of a valid point they really have. And I was wondering what your perspective is on both of you. I I think it's a false dichotomy. you can focus on the issues of I guess income inequality and health care, and also include say trans Healthcare in that. I think honestly people who disengaged from protecting trans people or have it be a focus of their show are cowardly. because they want to bring in a certain type of audience that probably watches Joe Rogan and doesn't feel comfortable with those issues. But you have to have, like the courage of your analysis, that you can talk about Medicare for all and you can talk about I don't know the green New Deal and then you can make an argument to people about why trans rights are important.
