25:29Now PlayingThe Supreme Court heard oral argument in the case of Lorie Smith, a website designer who wants to expand her business to include wedding websites for opposite-sex couples only. Smith is challenging a Colorado law that prohibits most businesses from discriminating against LGBTQ customers. Smith argues that requiring her to create websites for same-sex weddings would violate her right to freedom of speech. During the oral argument, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and the more liberal justices expressed doubt about whether creating a wedding website would be considered speech, and whether Smith's proposed rule would allow businesses to refuse to serve other groups protected by anti-discrimination laws. Chief Justice John Roberts and his five conservative colleagues signaled that they were likely to join him in a ruling for Smith, who is arguing that creating a wedding website is considered speech and that the law would require her to create a message that she believes to be false.
