In a recent interview with Lever News's David Sirota, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called for the impeachment of US Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Ocasio-Cortez cited a recent ProPublica report that revealed Thomas accepted luxury travel and other gifts from a Republican megadonor, as well as Thomas's wife's involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election, as reasons for his impeachment.

"This degree of corruption is shocking — almost cartoonish," Ocasio-Cortez said. "Thomas must be impeached."

Ocasio-Cortez is the first sitting member of Congress to call for Thomas's impeachment. It is unclear whether there is enough support in the House to impeach Thomas, but Ocasio-Cortez's call is likely to put pressure on Democrats to take action.
