One more clip from the PBS show. We didn't you didn't show this yesterday, did you? Well, we didn't show that we didn't show the context in terms of the before and after. We just showed that part. So we alright this is where I had said to Patrick that David who I believe is worth 200 million maybe more I don't know whatever it is. I said you know because I was saying like you know I want to do 90 taxations in the same way that we did for the 50s and the 60s. At that time it was like 470 000. I think it would be three million dollars today. So every dollar after three million you pay 90. And there's a lot of like his fans and this and that were like you know and I've seen this before with libertarian he's like that was not the effective tax rate. The effective tax rate was only 50%. where people are writing in and saying like well the number of receipts as a function of GDP or the number of dollar receipts that we got federal taxes wasn't any higher than it was today. Or as a function of GDP wasn't any higher today. That's all true. But people don't understand the reason why I want a tax rate of 90 as we had in the 50s and 60s the greatest flattening they called the great compression. The great flattening of wealth inequality that we've had in the history of this country. The reason why I want the 90% taxation for every dollar after three million dollars that you earn per year is not because I want to raise revenue. that may be a byproduct. I don't even know how much we would raise. It is because wealth inequality is one of the most toxic things for society. it creates political inequality. It reduces opportunities for people. it weakens unions. It weakens labor. It weakens our democracy. Also, you talk about inflation you've got somebody out there who the idea of buying Twitter is the way that I would focus on maybe buying a new Subaru it's a problem. Spending 46 million a billion dollars for somebody should not be as easy as I go out and go like I'm gonna get the base model I'm going to get twenty-five thousand dollars you know a Subaru. That those things should not be the same. Because it you talk about you know Rising prices on homes as soon as you've got a certain segment of the population go out and pay 15 million dollars for a home.
