In a statement released on Monday, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) commended Sen. Dianne Feinstein's (D-CA) decision to request that she be taken off of the Senate Judiciary Committee. "I commend Sen. Feinstein for her decision to step down from the Judiciary Committee," Klobuchar said. "This is a difficult decision, but it is the right one for her and for the Senate. Sen. Feinstein has served our country with distinction for decades, and she deserves our gratitude and respect."

Klobuchar went on to say that Feinstein's vote will become crucial once it's time to vote to lift the debt ceiling. "Sen. Feinstein's vote will become crucial once it's time to vote to lift the debt ceiling," Klobuchar said. "We need all of our senators to be in Washington, D.C., to fight for our economy and our future."

Feinstein has been a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee since 1993. She is the oldest member of the Senate and the longest-serving woman in Senate history. Feinstein's decision to step down from the Judiciary Committee comes after she missed several votes in recent months due to health concerns. She has not yet announced whether she will seek re-election in 2024.
