First in line on the phones calling from a 303 area code. Who's this? Where are you calling from? Are you talking to me, Sam? Yeah. Oh okay. I'm sorry. I've been doing work around here while I'm listening. I'm 63 and living in Colorado here. what's your name? I want to talk about solar okay. Okay. yeah. Did you see the Are you hearing me okay? Yeah. Okay. They're gonna vote today to get rid of the Tariff exemptions for solar companies in Malaysia Cambodia and Vietnam. did you hear about that? no. okay. well, it's true. you can look it up. they're voting on it today. anyhow, what do you know about all the anti-china sentiment here going on? I want to invite you to the three tiny solar panel companies I read about just in the last month or two that entered the United States in the production of modules. just for solar modules. not the other stuff that comes before that. and you know what states they went into? the Christian National Estates. I'm going to read the name of the Chinese solar panel company here. One is called Hunan. They went to South Carolina. But what is the other one? What's the point? What is the point? I mean before you give me the states but okay okay the point is the hypocrisy of the anti-china and the anti-solar. and there are four Chinese solar panel companies here in the United States that I know of. okay. And the hypocrisy is just driving me crazy. the tariffs that we put on the solar panels are well they're monsters. okay so let's just be clear though the House is voting on it. there's no reason to believe that they're going to be able to override Biden's tariff suspension is there? I mean won't he be able to veto it. He's already said So. Okay. Okay. The reason is they get a lot of tariff exemptions for solar panels okay. I'm gonna give you I'm going to tell you some information here about the price of solar panels right now. spot prices. okay in the year 2000, the spot price for a solar panel was four dollars a watt. in 2010 they got it down to two dollars a watt. take a guess what the price of solar panels is right now in 2022. just take a guess. per Watts. six dollars a Watts. no. 2010. 20 cents okay. look at them. I was an oil and gas analyst for nine years. no, I believe you are okay and so the price has gone down I mean I guess that it went up because I would expect it to go down. well yes, and it's all because of the Chinese and their massive scale of production. let's just put it really simply. we won World War II because of our massive production.
