YouTube Description
as posted by the channelElon Musk spoke with CNBC's David Faber about his recent tweet disputing reporting from Bellingcat that the Allen, Texas shooter held white supremacist beliefs. Musk said he did not believe the reporting because the social media profile in question had no followers and that Bellingcat specializes in "psy-ops."
However, Fox News 4 in Texas reported last week that the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed that the Allen shooter "had neo-Nazi ideation...He had patches. He had tattoos. Even his signature verified that."
The shooter, Mauricio Garcia, was killed by police after he opened fire at an outlet mall in Allen, Texas, on May 7, 2023. Eight people were killed in the shooting, including three children.
Garcia had a history of white supremacist activity. He had been arrested several times for assault and battery, and he had been convicted of a hate crime in 2018. He also had a tattoo of a Nazi swastika on his chest.
The DPS investigation into the shooting is ongoing. However, the evidence suggests that Garcia was motivated by white supremacist ideology.
Later, Musk spoke with Faber about his recent tweets comparing George Soros to the comic book character Magneto, as well as a follow-up tweet where he claimed that Soros hates humanity.
Faber asked Musk if he was concerned about whether people might see his commentary as anti-Semitic. Musk responded that he would actually consider himself "pro-Semite." He said that he does not hate Jews and that he has Jewish friends and family.
Faber then asked Musk if he was concerned about whether inserting himself into public discourse like this might affect shareholders and the stock prices of his companies. Musk responded that he is not concerned about shareholders or stock prices. "I'll say what I want to say,” Musk said. “And if the consequence of that is losing money, so be it."
