8:57Now PlayingFormer Attorney General Bill Barr weighed in on the details of the unsealed Trump indictment, including the charges against the former president. "If even half of it is true, then he's toast," Barr said. "It's a very detailed indictment, and it's very, very damning. This idea of presenting Trump as a victim here—a victim of a witch hunt—is ridiculous."
The indictment charges Trump with 37 counts of criminal activity, including willfully retaining hundreds of classified government records at his Florida home and conspiring to prevent their return to U.S. officials. Barr, who served as Trump's attorney general from 2019 to 2021, said that the indictment is "very serious" and that it "paints a very disturbing picture."
"This is not a witch hunt," Barr said. "This is a serious criminal case."
