They highlighted the growing physical demands of the job, including handling larger and heavier packages, as well as concerns about unbearable heat and lack of essential amenities like fans and water. The workers pointed to Amazon's record profits, which reached over $230 billion in annual profits, and the recent Prime Day event that generated more than $12.7 billion in profits during a two-day sale. Amazon's response emphasized that most employees earn between $16 and $26 per hour and have access to benefits, while only a small percentage of employees participated in the protest.
