as posted by the channelOn February 18, case management workers from Samaritan Village evicted this family of five from the Manhattan hotel where they had been living for 3 months, displaced and made homeless by Hurricane Sandy when the water came up to the 2nd floor of their apartment in Zone A.
With no notice, Samaritan Village case workers threatened to call the police, "If you don't get out now we will have you arrested for fraud" came to their hotel, when in their room, packed their stuff they made the mother take her daughter out of Roosevelt Hospital, saying there were two vans downstairs, despite the mother's pleas, they were taken back to the Hammels House NYCHA projects in Far Rockaway, to their MOLD INFESTED apartment...with NO HEAT.
The next day their daughter had such a severe asthma attack she almost died...they are still there.
Everyday they travel two hours to go to PS 111 where they have been thriving for the past 3 months!
