The Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) is one of the most important techniques in biology! If a scientist wants to study a gene, they need a way to isolate its unique DNA from all of the other DNA in an organism - that's what PCR does! In this episode we join Dr. Gregory Plunkett to perform a PCR experiment as part of his molecular systematics research at the New York Botanical Garden.
