credit card consumer protection legislation. The CARD Act (Credit
Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure) outlaws hidden
fees, misleading terms and other credit card company tricks and
traps. In recent weeks, Senate Democrats have passed legislation to
protect American consumers from fraud and prevent waste in government
contracts. The CARD Act is one more way Democrats are helping Main
Street to stabilize our economy. Today's credit card legislation was
authored by Senator Dodd.
