as posted by the channelU.S. Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and U.S. Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) will hold a press conference today to call on the dark money special interest group Judicial Crisis Network to disclose the donors funding its $10 million campaign supporting President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch.
The senators are writing letters both to the Judicial Crisis Network asking it to disclose its donors and to Judge Gorsuch asking him to call on the dark money groups supporting him to reveal themselves. Judge Gorsuch has so far refused to call on JCN to disclose its donors, after being pressed on the issue by Senator Whitehouse during his confirmation hearing last week.
Moreover, it has been well-reported that President Trump’s “short list” of potential nominees to the Supreme Court was “largely outsourced” to the conservative Federalist Society and the Heritage Foundation. Judge Gorsuch came from a list drawn up by special interests, and now he is being supported by special interests.
