YouTube Description
as posted by the channelU.S. Senators Bob Casey (D-PA), Ed Markey (D-MA), and Ben Cardin (D-MD) join two fathers who lost their sons to opioid overdoses and a family physician from Ohio who has seen firsthand the opioid crisis’ impact on her patients to discuss the Senate Republicans’ Trumpcare bill and the disastrous impacts it would have on the opioid crisis. At a time when the opioid epidemic is ravaging communities across the U.S., the GOP is proposing to slash the Medicaid funding that is helping states and millions of Americans take on the crisis. These disastrous cuts to Medicaid would leave millions without the health coverage to seek treatment and could devastate communities already losing the battle against opioids across the country. The so-called opioid “fund” rumored to be one of the “fixes” to the Senate Republicans’ bill is no substitute for the care provided by Medicaid, and a “fund” is no replacement for coverage.
