6:44Now PlayingAs an ambassador of aloha in Washington, Daniel K. Akaka leaves behind a legacy of integrity, kindness, humility, and service to Hawaii and to the nation. He was deeply committed to the idea that government can be used to improve people’s lives. And as the only Native Hawaiian to ever serve in the Senate, he never stopped working to see Native Hawaiians recognized in a government-to-government relationship with the United States. He will be remembered and greatly missed.
