Senator Elizabeth Warren and William "Mo" Cowan, who held the interim Senate seat after it was vacated by Secretary of State John F. Kerry were also present on the Senate Floor during the ceremony.
Members of the Massachusetts Congressional Delegation Rep. McGovern, Rep. Capuano, Rep. Tsongas, as well as Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Democratic House Leader Nancy Pelosi were also on hand.
