Aug 19, 20132:54Now PlayingColorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet works with Coloradans on integrating immigrants into American societies. When immigrants successfully integrate into the community, they add greater economic and civic value to the places where they live. In fact, 40% of Fortune 500 firms are founded by immigrants or their children.
That's why we created provisions in the Senate Immigration bill to help immigrants learn English and work towards citizenship. And, we modeled those provisions on programs like the Littleton Immigrant Resource Center (LIRC) which recruits volunteers to help immigrants connect with resources, work towards citizenship, learn English, and contribute civically and economically to the Littleton community through one-on-one mentoring programs and small group classes.
