1:02:50Now PlayingU.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), top Democrat on the Senate health committee, will be joined by Kris Brown, co-president at the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and public health advocates to unveil a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on gun violence research and safe gun storage.
Senator Murray and speakers will address the need for research on gun violence and how to better encourage efforts to promote safe gun storage and other critical safety measures. The new report follows Senator Murray’s 2015 letter requesting a GAO report to assess the efficacy of public health and safety programs that are designed to impact gun safety, including the storage and security of guns in households.
