Murray Grills Trump’s HHS Nominee on Transparency and Mass Firings

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member and former Chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, questioned James “Jim” O’Neill, Trump’s nominee to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), at a HELP committee hearing on his nomination. Senator Murray pressed O’Neill on the administration’s refusal to be transparent with Congress and the American people and the importance of the separate and distinct offices at HHS dealing with women’s health.
