Senator Murray Speaks on Senate Floor about Republicans Dooming Americans with Government Shutdown

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, spoke on the Senate floor ahead of a vote on Republicans’ partisan bill that would indefinitely extend an automatic 14-day continuing resolution (CR) in the event of a lapse in appropriations. She urged her colleagues to vote for the bill that she introduced to prevent a Republican shutdown, protect Congress’ power of the purse, and address the health care crisis that President Trump and Republicans have single-handedly created.
