Murray Calls on GOP to Pass Clean One-Year Extension of ACA Tax Credits & Reopen the Government

U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, spoke forcefully on the Senate floor on the thirty-eighth day of the Republican shutdown, calling on Republicans to work with Democrats as quickly as possible to pass a clean, one-year extension of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits that 22 million Americans rely on to afford health insurance—and work with Democrats to pass bipartisan legislation to reopen the government.
