4:42Now PlayingAt a Senate Budget Committee hearing on Medicaid, U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), a senior member and former chair of the Budget Committee, slammed Republicans’ sham hearing on Medicaid fraud. Senator Murray called out Trump for pardoning criminals convicted of Medicaid fraud and Republicans who voted to slash Medicaid to give tax cuts to billionaires last year in Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. Senator Murray also noted how disproportionately damaging these Medicaid cuts have been to health care in rural communities, where rural hospitals and clinics rely on Medicaid funding and are now being forced to make tough choices to let staff go, cancel services, or even close their doors.
